Nuevo Laredo opens new primary school with 338 students

A new primary school in the western region of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, has enrolled its first generation of 338 students for the 2026-2027 school year. The enrollment process was conducted by the municipal government in coordination with the state government through the CREDE of Nuevo Laredo.

The student distribution includes 75 first-graders, 63 second-graders, 59 third-graders, 54 fourth-graders, 60 fifth-graders, and 27 sixth-graders. Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal stated that the facility aims to bring education closer to homes and provide better opportunities for local children.

The school is designed to serve families in El Progreso, Valles de Anáhuac, Reservas Territoriales, and surrounding sectors. The infrastructure features 12 air-conditioned and equipped classrooms, a two-story building, administrative areas, and new school furniture.
