Nuevo Laredo reports improved security, job access, and student innovation
Nuevo Laredo is experiencing several municipal developments focused on security, employment, and education. Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal reported that the city has reached 29 months without significant risk situations, a stability she attributes to coordination with state and federal authorities. This improved security environment is intended to foster economic growth and investment.
In terms of social services, the municipal government held a job fair titled 'Empleo en tu Colonia' at Plaza Miguel Hidalgo. The initiative, part of the 'Presidencia Cerquita de Ti' program, allowed residents from various neighborhoods to access job vacancies and submit documentation directly to participating companies.
Additionally, the Universidad Tecnológica de Nuevo Laredo (UTNL) held its Technological Projects and Services Exhibition. Rector José Antonio Tovar Lara stated that approximately 140 student projects were presented, focusing on technical and social solutions for the productive sector. These projects were evaluated by external representatives from various companies.
