Overview
The government of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, continues to implement social development and student support initiatives. Building on its partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the ‘CONECT4T al Futuro’ connectivity program, the administration has formalized a collaboration agreement with the Instituto Tecnológico de Nuevo Laredo to facilitate professional residencies and job placement.

Through the Municipal Institute for the Prevention of Addictions, Conduct, and Antisocial Trends (IMPACTA), specialists conduct school visits to address suicide prevention, addiction, and bullying. Recent efforts at the Universidad Tecnológica de Nuevo Laredo (UTNL) included a session titled “Impacta con tu ejemplo y disfruta la vida sin drogas,” where specialists addressed the risks of substance abuse and HIV. Additionally, the Municipal Institute for Youth Development (IMJUVE) organized dialogues to help students recognize and prevent school bullying.
Financial support remains a priority through the ‘Beca Juntos por la Titulación Profesional 2026’ program, which assists graduates with professional title costs through October 30, 2026. Additionally, the ‘MyPime Avanza’ program supports micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises with in-kind aid for machinery and technological equipment.
