Nulab releases bee, an open-source CLI tool for Backlog

Nulab has released ‘bee’, an open-source command-line interface (CLI) tool designed to allow users to operate Backlog functions directly from a terminal environment. Released under the MIT license and hosted on GitHub, the tool includes over 90 subcommands covering issues, projects, wikis, documents, pull requests, and notifications.

The development of bee aims to reduce context switching for engineers who spend increasing amounts of time in terminal environments due to the rise of AI coding agents like Claude Code. By allowing direct interaction via the command line, the tool supports both manual human operation and automated workflows through CI environments or AI agents.

In a separate application of the Backlog platform, Toshiba Digital Marketing Initiative reported significant efficiency gains in managing webinar operations. By utilizing Backlog to template and track approximately 100 tasks per event, the company reduced its planning period from two months to one month.
