Latin American regions implement MSME support initiatives

Various regional initiatives are currently focused on supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through training, formalization, and cooperative development.

In El Salvador, CONAMYPE reported that over 200 women entrepreneurs are completing its ‘Mujer y Negocios’ program. In Mexico, the SETUE is providing financial education and commercial strategy workshops for women in Baja California Sur, while Celaya hosted a forum to promote social and solidarity economies through cooperatives.

In Argentina, the ‘Bazar del Fuego’ is facilitating commerce and training in Tierra del Fuego, and the Municipality of Tunuyán is offering guidance on business formalization. In the Dominican Republic, Promipyme leadership has called for communication models that better translate MSME needs into measurable public policy.

In Cuba, the MSME Numancia is expanding its agroecological and carpentry operations to provide food supplies to local community centers. Meanwhile, in Peru, experts emphasize the importance of using artificial intelligence and data analysis to improve MSME competitiveness.
