Nurcan Fıratoğlu launches 500-head livestock farm in Elazığ with state grant

Nurcan Fıratoğlu, a 43‑year‑old mother of three from Dallıca village in Elazığ, secured a grant from Turkey’s Agricultural and Rural Development Support Agency (TKDK) to build a small‑ruminant farm. The project, approved under the agency’s subsidy programme, enabled her to construct a facility for 500 head of sheep and goats, which she now operates together with her husband, Bayram Fıratoğlu. The farm, completed in late 2022, supplies livestock to the local market and is intended to create jobs and boost regional production. Nurcan said the state’s backing, including support from the President and the Agriculture Minister, was essential and that she hopes to add a dairy unit in the future.
