Nursing training programs see new graduates and trainees in Germany
Nursing schools in Germany are reporting new cohorts of graduates and incoming trainees as healthcare institutions work to secure future staffing.
At the Quirlsberg Akademie, 18 nursing specialists and seven nursing assistants successfully completed their training. The academy serves the Evangelisches Klinikum Bergisch Gladbach and the health campus Quirlsberg, as well as Wermelskirchen Hospital. Most graduates have opted to remain with their training providers for employment.
In Schweinfurt, the Vocational School for Health and Nursing has welcomed 76 new trainees across three courses. This includes 49 students pursuing a three-year nursing specialist qualification and 26 students training as nursing assistants. The program is supported by the Leopoldina-Krankenhaus and Haßberg-Kliniken, involving various cooperation partners. Since the 2023/24 school year, these training programs have been AZAV-certified, allowing participants to utilize education vouchers from the Federal Employment Agency for costs such as exams, media, and childcare.
