NU's 35th Muktamar in Jombang Gears Up Transport and Backs KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz for PBNU Chair

The local organising committee for Nahdlatul Ulama's 35th Muktamar in Jombang has assembled a mixed fleet to move thousands of participants. Arrangements include 15 golf carts from Blitar, 50 Toyota Innova cars donated by the alumni association, and 200 electric rickshaws supplied by a community group. KH Abdurrozaq Sholeh said, "Karena nanti untuk area Muktamar di Tambakberas kita sterilkan," emphasizing the need for internal transport coordination.

Ahead of the gathering, the East Java regional board (PWNU Jatim) officially nominated its chairman, KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz (known as Gus Kikin), as a candidate for the chairmanship of the national Nahdlatul Ulama body (PBNU). KH Abdul Matin Djawahir declared, "Ini murni kehendak PWNU Jawa Timur, bukan keinginan pribadi maupun titipan pihak lain," underscoring the institutional nature of the endorsement. The nomination highlights Mahfudz’s experience in pesantren, business, and prior PBNU leadership, and his stated aim to revitalize NU according to its founding principles.
