Nusa Tenggara Timur earthquake recovery: Kemen PPPA and Danone support children

The Indonesian Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen PPPA) is partnering with Danone Indonesia to provide nutritional support and trauma recovery for children and women affected by the earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).

Minister Arifah Fauzi visited affected areas in West Manggarai and Manggarai to monitor basic needs and protection efforts. She emphasized that recovery requires more than just basic necessities, noting that “trauma healing cannot be done only once or twice,” and called for long-term psychosocial assistance involving psychologists.

The mission included Seto Mulyadi, Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI), along with local government officials and representatives from Danone Indonesia. The group visited several locations, including shelters in Labuan Bajo and Ruteng, to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable groups through specialized posts like the Women and Child Friendly Posts (Pos SAPA).
