Náutico dismisses coaches Hélio and Guilherme dos Anjos

Náutico has dismissed coaching duo Hélio and Guilherme dos Anjos following a period of poor performance in the Brasileirão Série B. The decision comes just days after a 3-0 defeat to Cuiabá and on the eve of a major derby against Sport.

President Bruno Becker stated the decision was made with “security and conviction” due to the club's current situation. The coaching staff also held management roles, assisting in squad construction. Under their leadership, the club achieved promotion from Série C in 2025.

Regarding contractual obligations, Becker clarified that while the duo had a contract through 2027, a clause allows for termination at the end of the current season. Consequently, the club will pay salaries through the end of 2026. Fan reactions have largely expressed relief regarding the dismissal, with many calling for immediate changes ahead of the upcoming match.
