Nvidia approaches $6 trillion market cap amid AI expansion

Nvidia is approaching a historic milestone as its market capitalization nears $6 trillion, driven by the ongoing artificial intelligence boom. The company's recent financial performance includes quarterly revenue of approximately $96 billion, a significant increase fueled by massive demand for data center chips.

To bolster its leadership in scientific research, Nvidia has committed $1 billion over the next five years to advance super intelligence in the United States, focusing on fields such as quantum computing, healthcare, and energy security. Additionally, the company has entered a strategic partnership with Eli Lilly to co-invest up to $1 billion in an AI co-innovation lab in the San Francisco Bay Area. This lab aims to utilize AI and robotics to transform drug discovery and biomedical research.

Nvidia is also aggressively managing its capital, having announced a record $150 billion share buyback program. When combined with previous authorizations, the total share repurchase program is expected to reach $235 billion through 2028. Analysts remain optimistic about the company's trajectory, with some suggesting a potential 40% upside that could push its market value toward $7.83 trillion.
