Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says AI lacks consciousness and eyes humanoid robotics as next growth driver

Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang stated that artificial intelligence is fundamentally a sophisticated software tool and does not possess consciousness, feelings, or intent. He cautioned against over‑humanising AI and urged treating it as a powerful, non‑sentient technology.

Huang also highlighted robotics and physical AI as the next major chapter for Nvidia. The company plans to provide the software, computing and security layer for humanoid robots through its new Halo safety platform, while current revenue from physical‑AI products stands at about $9 billion, roughly one percent of total sales. Analysts note that most of the financial upside may lie with suppliers of actuators, sensors and factory‑automation components rather than Nvidia itself.

The commentary reflects Nvidia’s broader strategy to position its GPU and AI stack as the operating system for future robots, even as the market for humanoid robotics remains small compared with the firm’s data‑center business.
