KytyPS5 emulator enables PS5 gaming on PC and Xbox with AI enhancements
The PC gaming landscape is seeing significant developments in emulation and AI-driven graphics enhancement. The KytyPS5 emulator has made notable strides, successfully running the PlayStation 5 title ‘Demon’s Souls Remake’ on PC. Tests using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 showed the game achieving over 60 FPS at 1440p, with frame rates approaching 120 FPS when utilizing NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation. While performance is improving, users report issues with stuttering and inconsistent frame timing.
Simultaneously, modders are expanding the reach of NVIDIA’s DLSS technology. Experimental mods have enabled DLSS 5 features on RTX 40-series cards, with some tests showing performance gains of up to 40%. Furthermore, the ‘DLSS-NR-on-AMD’ project has reached version 0.8.0, which brings core DLSS features—including Ray Reconstruction and Frame Generation—to AMD Radeon RX 6000, 7000, and 9000 series graphics cards via custom compute executions.
In a cross-platform development milestone, the KytyPS5 emulator has also been ported to the Xbox Series X via Developer Mode. Early tests indicate that some PS5 games can launch with audio and controller support, though the project remains in an experimental stage with performance challenges.
