NVIDIA launches Open Secure AI Alliance for open‑source AI security

NVIDIA Corporation announced the creation of the Open Secure AI Alliance, bringing together major technology firms such as Microsoft Corporation, IBM Corporation, Cisco Systems, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face, Salesforce, Siemens and Palantir. The alliance aims to develop open‑source tools that identify security gaps, test AI systems and protect networks, offering governments and enterprises the ability to inspect and control AI models rather than relying on closed‑source stacks.

UAE‑based AI company G42 has joined the alliance, underscoring the group’s global scope and alignment with the United Arab Emirates’ broader AI strategy. G42’s CEO Peng Xiao highlighted the need for “secure and trusted” frontier models and noted recent U.S. export‑policy adjustments that cleared the way for approved UAE firms to access advanced AI chips. The partnership reflects growing concerns after reports of AI models being used in hacking scenarios, prompting the industry to coordinate open‑source defenses.

The Open Secure AI Alliance therefore seeks to balance openness with security, providing coordinated cybersecurity mechanisms while reducing dependence on proprietary AI platforms.
