Nvidia unveils RTX Spark ARM CPUs for Windows PCs
Nvidia announced its RTX Spark ARM-based System‑on‑Chip family, the N1 and N1X, targeting Windows laptops and mini PCs. The chips combine a 20‑core Arm CPU based on the Grace architecture, a Blackwell GPU delivering up to 1 PFLOP of AI performance, and 128 GB of unified LPDDR5X memory. Major OEMs such as Dell, ASUS, HP, Lenovo and Microsoft showcased their first RTX Spark‑powered devices at Computex, including Dell’s XPS 16 Creator Edition and ASUS’s ProArt series.
CEO Jen‑Hsun Huang pledged that every Windows application will run on the new ARM platform, citing close work with Microsoft on software compatibility, the Prism emulation layer for x86/x64 apps, and native support for game anti‑cheat solutions like PUBG, Valorant and Fortnite. While the promise of universal compatibility aims to expand consumer choice, analysts caution that delivering seamless performance across the entire Windows ecosystem may take time.
