Nvidia and Microsoft launch AI‑powered laptops for autonomous computing

Nvidia unveiled a new RTX Spark chip for Windows laptops, designed to run AI agents locally without cloud connectivity. Dell, HP and Lenovo plan to ship devices using the chip later this year. Microsoft is revamping Windows and introduced Scout, an AI assistant for Microsoft 365 that can operate across cloud storage, a user’s PC and the web, building on OpenClaw technology. Google also previewed GoogleBooks, which will suggest actions such as scheduling meetings when a user hovers over dates. The companies aim to let users issue simple prompts and have computers carry out multi‑step tasks autonomously, reducing reliance on keyboards and mice. “The goal eventually is to figure out, ‘Hey, how do I just tell the computer essentially what I want it to do, and then have it do it?’” said analyst Bob O’Donnell. Experts note that the new laptops are likely expensive and that consumer adoption may be limited in the near term, while AI agents are already proving more useful for business workflows.
