NVIDIA releases GeForce Game Ready Driver 616.56 with DLSS 4.5

NVIDIA has released the GeForce Game Ready Driver 616.56 WHQL for desktop graphics cards running 64-bit versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11. The update has received Microsoft WHQL certification.

The release coincides with the rollout of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. This update introduces a second-generation transformer model designed for games utilizing ray-traced or path-traced rendering. The new model replaces multiple manually configured denoisers with a unified neural model that processes motion vectors, depth information, surface data, and previously rendered frames to reconstruct pixels in areas with insufficient ray sampling.

According to NVIDIA, the updated model features approximately 20 percent more parameters and 35 percent more computational capability than the previous implementation. While the model is larger, execution performance is expected to remain comparable. The improvements aim to enhance temporal stability, lighting accuracy, fine geometry, reflections, and image clarity during movement.
