NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 technology rollout

Overview

NVIDIA’s DLSS 4.5 technology is being integrated into several major video game titles. Early implementations include support for Gears of War: E-Day, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, and pre-order availability for Phantom Blade Zero. During Gamescom 2026, NVIDIA officially unveiled DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. This update marks a significant technical shift, moving from a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to a second-generation Transformer-based architecture. The new model utilizes 20 percent more parameters and offers a 35 percent increase in computational efficiency. These improvements aim to enhance image quality by reducing ghosting and temporal noise while maintaining stable performance in ray-traced and path-traced titles. This technology is now available for all GeForce RTX graphics cards via the NVIDIA App. Following the Gamescom announcement, NVIDIA released the GeForce Game Ready Driver 616.56 WHQL for Windows 10 and 11. This driver facilitates the rollout of the Ray Reconstruction update, which replaces multiple manually configured denoisers with a unified neural model. This model processes motion vectors, depth information, surface data, and previously rendered frames to reconstruct pixels in areas with insufficient ray sampling, aiming to improve lighting accuracy, fine geometry, and reflections. Initial support is expected for approximately 27 titles, including Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Hogwarts Legacy, and Star Wars Outlaws. Compatibility is anticipated for RTX series GPUs ranging from the RTX 20 to the RTX 50. Developers can implement the technology via the Streamline SDK and Unreal Engine plugins, and RTX Remix has also been updated to support DLSS 4.5. NVIDIA also highlighted progress on RTX Spark, a new Windows on Arm ecosystem scheduled for launch this fall. RTX Spark is intended to integrate personal AI agents, advanced content creation, and high-performance gaming.
