NVIDIA releases new GeForce and Linux graphics drivers
NVIDIA has released new driver updates for both Windows and Linux platforms, focusing on game optimizations and system stability.
The GeForce Game Ready driver version 617.42 provides optimizations for several upcoming and current titles, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, and Valor Mortis. It also includes preparations for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Notably, this update addresses a crash issue in Assassin’s Creed Shadows that occurred after prolonged sessions following previous driver installations.
For Linux users, the 615.78.08 New Feature Branch driver introduces improvements to Vulkan latency and Wayland color management. The update includes support for the VK_NV_low_latency2 Vulkan extension to reduce stuttering when using vkd3d-proton and fixes graphical corruption issues in The Last of Us Part II. Additionally, the release addresses system suspend behaviors and GPU page table allocation failures.
