Two pallets of NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs vanish at São Paulo airport

A shipment of ZOTAC GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards has disappeared after arriving at the São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil. The Brazilian IT distributor Oderço reported that two pallets of the high-end GPUs went missing, with an estimated procurement value of approximately $470,000 (roughly R$2.5 million).

Oderço has publicly called for an investigation, stating that the company has received no official responses to repeated inquiries regarding the cargo. The distributor noted that this is the first such incident in the company’s 38-year history. While the exact number of units is not confirmed, estimates suggest the shipment could contain around 70 cards.

The disappearance occurs amid significant market volatility and supply scarcity for the RTX 5090. While the cause of the loss remains unconfirmed—with possibilities ranging from theft to administrative error—the high resale value of the components due to current market conditions has drawn significant attention to the incident.
