Guarulhos Airport cargo theft investigation
Overview
A shipment of high-end ZOTAC GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards, valued at approximately R$ 2.5 million ($470,000), disappeared from the São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil. The distributor, Oderço, reported the loss of two pallets containing components used for gaming and artificial intelligence processing.
Investigations by the Civil Police have identified three employees of a third-party company operating at the airport as suspects. Security footage from the Cargo Terminal (Teca) reportedly shows two forklift operators moving the pallets without formal requests, while a third individual is suspected of releasing the goods in the system. The stolen items were later discovered being advertised for sale on a website, featuring images that included the original airport release labels. The theft is believed to have occurred on September 21, with the Federal Police expected to join the ongoing investigation.
