NVIDIA and SEGA announce Virtua Fighter Crossroads for RTX Spark PCs

NVIDIA and SEGA marked 30 years of collaboration with a joint announcement in Tokyo’s Akihabara GiGO building. The companies revealed that SEGA’s upcoming fighting game Virtua Fighter Crossroads, slated for a 2027 release, will be the first title optimized for NVIDIA’s new RTX Spark platform.

RTX Spark is a super‑chip built on an Arm‑based Grace CPU and a Blackwell GPU, offering up to 6,144 CUDA cores, 20 Grace cores, 128 GB of unified memory and support for DLSS, ray tracing and on‑device generative AI. NVIDIA highlighted that future SEGA franchises will also be ported to the platform.

The partnership traces back to 1995 when SEGA’s $5 million investment rescued a near‑bankrupt NVIDIA and the NV1 chip powered the original PC version of Virtua Fighter. The renewed alliance underscores both firms’ focus on AI‑enhanced gaming and low‑power Windows PCs.

Separately, Taiwanese PC maker MSI reported that pre‑orders for RTX Spark‑powered AI PCs have sold out before launch, with strong demand in China, the United States and Taiwan, prompting the company to seek additional chip allocations from NVIDIA.
