Nâzım Hikmet exhibition opens in İzmir

The “Romantika / Bir Ömrün Seyrüseferi” exhibition, dedicated to the life and cultural legacy of Nâzım Hikmet, has opened at the Atlas Pavilion as part of the 95th İzmir International Fair. Organized by Folkart Gallery, it is described as the most comprehensive exhibition of Hikmet’s work in Turkey to date.

Spanning 2,125 square meters across 15 halls, the exhibition features contributions from approximately 25 individuals, institutions, archives, and private collections from both Turkey and abroad. The display includes hundreds of photographs, manuscripts, documents, rare books, personal belongings, paintings, sculptures, and audiovisual materials.

The exhibition traces Hikmet’s life from his childhood and travels through Anatolia and Moscow to his years in prison, his relationships, exile, and longing for his homeland. Mesut Sancak, Chairman of the Board of Folkart Gallery, noted that the project aims to contribute to the cultural and artistic life of İzmir.
