Nézőpont Intézet announces shift in polling methodology

The Nézőpont Intézet, a Hungarian polling institute, has announced a significant shift in its operational model following a methodological self-examination. This review follows the institute's failure to accurately predict the results of the recent April elections, where previous forecasts significantly miscalculated party support and the eventual outcome.

Under the leadership of Ágoston Sámuel Mráz, the institute stated it will move away from primarily publishing party preference data. Instead, it intends to focus on research-based analyses that highlight deeper societal connections. The institute also pledged to increase transparency regarding its methodology and data collection processes.

As part of this restructuring, the organization is launching a policy think tank titled ‘Magyarország 2040’ (Hungary 2040) to examine long-term technological, economic, and political trends. Additionally, the institute plans to introduce scholarship programs for students, researchers, and analysts to support the balance of democratic public life.
