O2 rolls out free WiFi 7 routers to all customers
O2 has announced that it is now providing WiFi 7 routers to all its customers at no additional cost, following similar moves by Movistar and Digi.
The new hardware is an HGU (Home Gateway Unit) that integrates a router, WiFi access point, and ONT into a single device. This model aims to improve internet speed, stability, and latency, which benefits activities such as online gaming, video calls, and streaming. It supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and includes advanced security standards.
Existing customers can request the upgrade for free if they opt for self-installation. For those porting their service from Movistar to O2 with an existing fiber installation, a new technical installation or equipment replacement may not be necessary.
