OAS and Dominican Ministry of Women launch leadership course for rural women

The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Women and the Organization of American States (OAS), through the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM) and the School of Government, have launched the ‘Milagros Ortiz Bosch’ high-level course for rural women aspiring to electoral candidacies.

More than 300 female leaders from the Dominican Republic and other countries in the region are participating in the program. The training focuses on rights, equality, and practical tools to help rural women navigate the challenges of political campaigns and compete in electoral processes under conditions of equality.

The initiative was held during the Week of Political Parity Impulse, with sponsorship from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Key attendees included Minister of Women Gloria Reyes, CIM Executive Secretary Alejandra Mora Mora, and former Vice President Milagros Ortiz Bosch.
