Oatly releases 2026 Future of Taste report
Oatly has published its 2026 Future of Taste report, outlining significant shifts in global beverage culture based on insights from over 200 industry experts, including baristas and mixologists, across 21 countries.
The report identifies four primary trends: the rise of functional or medicinal drinks incorporating botanicals and herbs, a focus on wellness ingredients, an emphasis on unique textures such as coffee jelly, and a return to cafés as hubs for human connection. Experts noted that 40% see herbs and botanicals, such as ginger, hibiscus, and lavender, as vital future ingredients.
Alongside the report, Oatly launched its fourth seasonal recipe lookbook, which applies these trends to specific drinks like coconut pandan clouds and preserved lemon matcha. This taste-led strategy follows a period of business recovery for the company, which reported its first full year of profitability in 2025 and has raised its forecast for 2026.
