Oaxaca authorities arrest three suspects after armed confrontation

The Oaxaca State Attorney General's Office (FGEO) conducted three simultaneous searches in San Miguel Panixtlahuaca, resulting in the arrest of three individuals identified as Francisco ‘N’, Manuel ‘N’, and Ignacio ‘N’. Authorities state the suspects are members of a criminal group known as ‘Grupo Operativo 666’.

During the operation, law enforcement officers were met with heavy gunfire from within one of the targeted residences. The State Investigation Agency (AEI) repelled the attack, though two agents sustained superficial injuries from flying debris. The operation was supported by the Mexican Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), and the National Guard. In addition to the arrests, authorities seized an arsenal of weapons and are continuing investigations into narcotics trafficking in the Costa region.
