Oaxaca authorities investigate suspected femicide in Zaachila

The Oaxaca Prosecutor's Office has launched a femicide investigation following the discovery of a young woman's body in a ravine in Zaachila. The victim, approximately 25 years old, was found by a local farmer in a 80-meter deep ravine on the road to Santa Inés del Monte.

Preliminary investigations suggest the woman may have been attacked with a sharp weapon and thrown into the ravine between Monday night and Tuesday morning. While the body remains unidentified, forensic experts are working to determine the exact cause of death and the victim's identity. Authorities are currently investigating whether the crime occurred at the site or if the body was moved there afterward.
