Oaxaca Governor distributes 7 million pesos in economic support to women

Oaxaca Governor Salomón Jara Cruz has distributed over 1,000 economic supports to women in the Costa region through the ‘Tandas Mujer Primavera Créditos a la Palabra’ and ‘Tarjetas Margarita Maza’ programs. The initiative, held in San Pedro Pochutla, involves an investment of more than 7 million pesos aimed at strengthening economic inclusion and improving the income of female heads of households living in extreme poverty.

The Tandas Mujer Primavera program provided microcredits to 543 women in amounts of 5,000 pesos to be repaid over six months, and 67 women with expanded credits of 10,000 pesos to be repaid over nine months. Both credit modalities include a one-month grace period and zero percent interest. Additionally, the Margarita Maza card strategy benefited 610 women and their families to support local economic development.
