Oaxaca Legislature urges Profeco to monitor El Buen Fin 2026

The LXVI Legislature of the State Congress of Oaxaca has approved an exhortation to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) to strengthen price monitoring and deploy special verification operations for the 2026 edition of El Buen Fin.

The measure aims to protect the economy of Oaxacan families by ensuring that commercial promotions, discounts, and offers in both physical establishments and digital platforms are real, clear, and verifiable. The legislature requested that Profeco prevent the use of artificial reference prices and misleading advertising.

The agreement also calls for the federal authority to sanction behaviors that violate the Federal Consumer Protection Law and to widely disseminate mechanisms for citizens to receive guidance, file complaints, and initiate conciliation procedures. El Buen Fin 2026 is scheduled to take place from November 13 to 17.
