Oaxaca showcases cultural heritage at Los Pinos

The Mexican state of Oaxaca staged a two‑day cultural exhibition called “Oaxaca en Los Pinos” on 4‑5 July 2026 at the Los Pinos complex in Mexico City. Part of the federal “Los estados en Los Pinos” programme, the event displayed works by 15 local artisans—including textiles, huaraches, red and black clay, jewelry and alebrijes—and highlighted 21 regional agro‑industrial products such as mezcal, bread, honey, chocolate, jams and moles.

The exhibition featured a photographic showcase titled “Oaxaca ceremonia perpetua” by Oaxacan photojournalist Juan Carlos Reyes García, five hands‑on workshops (red clay, pre‑hispanic temporary tattoos, wood painting, stone carving, and “immortal flower”), and a culinary display of traditional dishes from five municipalities. A replica of a Mitla tomb was also presented, alongside five dance performances and eleven musical groups, including ensembles like Mujeres de Viento Florido and the collective Tapa Caminos. The event was announced by Flavio Sosa Villavicencio, head of Oaxaca’s Secretariat of Culture and Arts, and attended by Enid Azucena Torres Agustiniano, representative of the deity Centéotl.
