Oceanside RCMP reports 340 complaints including thefts and scams
The Oceanside RCMP reported receiving 340 complaints between July 27 and August 2, 2026, covering various thefts, scams, and vandalism in the Parksville area.
Notable incidents include the theft of a dog food delivery package from a porch on Tara Crescent on July 29 and the theft of a Fender Strat guitar and two MXT standup paddle boards on July 31. Other reported crimes include a residential break-and-enter in Parksville, a stolen bicycle that was later recovered, a stolen vehicle license plate, and a stolen wallet from an unlocked vehicle in Qualicum Beach.
Police also noted instances of telephone scams targeting residents for financial services and phone company information, as well as vandalism of a business sign in Coombs.
