Octavian Popescu joins Levadiakos on loan from FCSB

Romanian footballer Octavian Popescu has officially joined the Greek club Levadiakos on a loan deal from FCSB. The 23-year-old winger, who has seven appearances for the Romanian national team, aims to revitalize his career in Greece.

At Levadiakos, Popescu will reunite with former FCSB coaches Elias Charalambous and Mihai Pintilii. He joins a squad currently struggling at the bottom of the Greek league, where he will be teammates with Adrian Șut and Alexandru Pantea.

The move has drawn mixed reactions. While Popescu expressed motivation to return to the top level and the national team, former striker Adrian Mutu described the loan as a “signal of alarm,” suggesting it reflects a decline in the player's performance. Additionally, Ioan Becali criticized the player's professionalism and upbringing following the transfer.
