Oculto Film Fest announces eighth edition in Ciudad Juárez

The eighth edition of the Oculto Film Fest, a specialized event for horror, fantasy, and suspense cinema, will take place from October 8 to 11 in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. The festival features a selection of 25 films, including feature films and short films, chosen from 200 international submissions. The selection includes a regional showcase of works from filmmakers in Ciudad Juárez, El Paso, and Las Cruces.

The inaugural gala will be held on October 8 at the Museo de Arqueología e Historia de El Chamizal, featuring the film ‘No dejes a los niños solos’ with director Emilio Portes Gil. Subsequent activities include screenings at Alameda Cinemas, such as ‘Demonatrix’ directed by Aurelio Voltaire, and a workshop on film direction led by Portes Gil.

The event also emphasizes industry networking through sessions like the VIP Filmmaker Meet & Greet at Fonterra Towers. The festival will conclude with an awards ceremony presenting ‘La Veladora de Oculto’ to recognize excellence in various categories.
