Cultural events in Ciudad Juárez

Overview

Ciudad Juárez hosted several cultural activities in late 2026. In early October, the eighth edition of the Oculto Film Fest took place, focusing on horror, fantasy, and suspense cinema. The festival featured 25 films selected from 200 international submissions, including a regional showcase of works from filmmakers in Ciudad Juárez, El Paso, and Las Cruces. Activities included a gala at the Museo de Arqueología e Historia de El Chamizal, film workshops, and industry networking sessions.

Following the film festival, the Municipal Institute for Culture of Juárez (IPACULT) organized the 2026 “Fortunato Pérez” International Jazz Festival from October 15 to 18, featuring performances by Mampe Kanakoqui and the Cuarteto Mexicano de Jazz. IPACULT also scheduled a free screening of the psychological horror film “The Others” at the gardens of the Museo de Arqueología e Historia de El Chamizal for late October.
