Odesa power outages affect 178,000 households after Russian strikes

A massive Russian attack targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure has left over 178,000 households without electricity in the Odesa region. The energy provider DTEK reported that the strikes caused emergency power outages in the Peresypskyi and Prymorskyi districts of Odesa, as well as surrounding settlements.

As of Saturday morning, technicians had managed to restore power to more than 60,000 households, but significant disruptions remain. Officials warned of potential impacts on critical infrastructure and electric transportation. In Odesa city, a strike on an 11-story building reportedly injured ten people, including two rescuers.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia utilized two Zircon hypersonic missiles and 174 various types of unmanned aerial vehicles during the overnight assault. While air defenses neutralized 138 drones and three Banderol-type loitering munitions, other strikes caused damage across several regions, including Kyiv, Donetsk, Kherson, and Kharkiv.
