Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts face potential low pressure system
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a low pressure area likely to form over the north Andaman Sea around the evening of September 19. This system is expected to move west-northwestward toward the coasts of south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh over the following three to four days.
While the IMD has not yet determined the eventual intensity of the system or whether it will strengthen into a cyclonic storm, it is expected to influence weather conditions in Odisha.
Additionally, several districts in Odisha are expected to encounter a week of heavy rain and thunderstorms. A yellow warning has been issued for various districts through the morning of September 22. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph are anticipated across multiple regions, including Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Kendujhar, among others.
