Odisha secures Rs 8,417 crore in investment proposals during UAE visit

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has concluded a high-level investment outreach in the United Arab Emirates, securing significant economic commitments for the Indian state. During the visit, the state government received investment proposals worth Rs 8,417 crore, which are projected to create approximately 14,310 jobs across sectors including IT, real estate, logistics, food processing, steel, and the circular economy.

As part of the mission, the Chief Minister met with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri to discuss deepening trade and investment cooperation. Majhi also toured the Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) facility in Jebel Ali to observe advanced production technologies. This visit highlighted the existing technology license partnership between NALCO and EGA, which focuses on modernization, capacity expansion, and low-carbon aluminium production.

Additional engagements included industry roundtables with the Bureau of Middle East Recycling (BMR) Association and the JSW Group, focusing on metal recycling and resource efficiency. The state also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC) to strengthen ties with the UAE-based Indian business community. The outreach aimed to position Odisha as a global manufacturing and value-addition hub for green energy, advanced materials, and downstream industries.
