Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has concluded a high-level investment outreach in the United Arab Emirates, securing investment proposals worth Rs 8,417 crore. These commitments are projected to create approximately 14,310 jobs in sectors such as IT, real estate, logistics, food processing, steel, and the circular economy.
During the mission, the Chief Minister met with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri to discuss deepening trade and investment cooperation. The delegation also toured the Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) facility in Jebel Ali, highlighting the existing technology license partnership between NALCO and EGA regarding modernization and low-carbon aluminium production.
Further engagements included industry roundtables with the JSW Group and the Bureau of Middle East Recycling (BMR) Association, focusing on resource efficiency and metal recycling. Additionally, the state signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC) to strengthen ties with the UAE-based Indian business community. The outreach sought to position Odisha as a global hub for green energy, advanced materials, and downstream industries.
