Odisha Chief Minister seeks UAE investment for major industrial projects
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is leading a high-level delegation to the United Arab Emirates to secure global investment partnerships. The outreach aims to support the state’s goal of reaching a $500 billion economy by 2036 and $1.5 trillion by 2047.
Key discussions have focused on a potential Rs 2.1 lakh crore investment involving the International Holding Company (IHC) and the Adani Group. These proposed projects cover sectors such as metallurgy, rare earth minerals, coal-to-chemicals, and port-based special economic zones. The initiatives are estimated to potentially generate approximately 8.7 lakh employment opportunities.
In addition to industrial talks, the delegation met with petrochemical major Borouge and various UAE investment institutions. The visit also includes a One District One Product (ODOP) showcase in Dubai to promote Odisha’s traditional handicrafts and locally manufactured goods. The Chief Minister has emphasized building long-term partnerships based on technology and value creation to position Odisha as a competitive global destination.
