Odisha CM promises justice in Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati murder case

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has pledged justice regarding the 2008 murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati. Speaking at a centenary event in Gurjang, Majhi criticized the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) administration, alleging negligence and political appeasement.

Majhi claimed that reports from the Justice Mahapatra and Justice Naidu commissions were intentionally removed from public service buildings to protect the perpetrators. To honor the leader's legacy, the Chief Minister announced that his ancestral village, Gurjang, will be developed as a ‘Heritage Village’ and the Gurjang Panchayat will be established as a ‘Model Panchayat’.
