Indian leaders mark PM Modi's birthday with celebrations and greetings
Indian political leaders and state chief ministers are marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday with various commemorative activities. In Assam and Odisha, Chief Ministers Himanta Biswa Sarma and Mohan Charan Majhi have appealed to citizens to light earthen lamps, referred to as ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’, at their homes, temples, and prominent locations to pray for the Prime Minister’s health and longevity.
These observances are part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a month-long campaign running from September 17 to October 17 to celebrate 25 years of Modi’s public service. The campaign includes blood donation camps, health initiatives, and tree plantation drives.
Separately, several high-ranking officials, including Prime Minister Modi himself, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, extended birthday greetings to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Modi commended Dhami’s commitment to state development and the empowerment of underprivileged communities.
