The Odisha government has announced a reshuffle of 14 newly inducted Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, assigning several to key administrative roles across various departments.

According to the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, the appointments follow a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) notification issued on September 3, 2026. The official notification was issued on September 18 by order of the Governor.

Several officers have been designated as Joint Secretaries, including Surya Narayan Dash and Soudamini Sethi for the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, and Jyotirmayee Pradhan and Babita Mohanty for the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department. Madhumita Nayak has been appointed Joint Secretary for the Labour and ESI Department while retaining her position as Director, ESI, Bhubaneswar.

Other officers, such as Sumita Sarkar, Balamakunda Bhuyan, and Surendra Kumar Panda, have been permitted to continue in their existing assignments.
