Odisha government reshuffles six IPS officers

The Odisha government has announced a major administrative reshuffle involving the transfer and new postings of six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. According to a notification from the Home Department, these changes aim to strengthen law and order and improve investigation and training systems.

Key appointments include Himanshu Kumar Lal, formerly IG Police of the Northern Range in Sambalpur, who has been appointed as IG Police for the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and the Special Task Force (STF) in Bhubaneswar. These units are critical for investigating organized and economic crimes. Satyabrat Bhoi has been moved from his role in the North Central Range to serve as IG Police for Intelligence.

Other significant moves include Jay Narayan Pankaj, who transitions from Intelligence to IG Police of the Southern Range in Berhampur, and Niti Shekhar, who moves from the Southern Range to IG Police (Provisioning) at SP Headquarters. Additionally, Charan Singh Meena has been promoted to DIG Police of the Northern Range, while Ashish Kumar Singh has been appointed DIG Police of the North Central Range and given additional charge as Principal of the Police Training College in Angul.
