Odisha Health Department signs 10 MoUs to upgrade healthcare

On 5 August 2026 the Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department, led by Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, signed ten Memoranda of Understanding with a range of institutions. The agreements cover trauma care, medical education, laboratory upgrades, and the promotion of traditional Indian systems of medicine. Key partners include the All India Institute of Ayurveda for trauma‑care integration, AIIMS Delhi’s Centre for Emergency and Trauma Care for a district‑level trauma centre, Gujarat’s I‑Hub for medical‑education innovation, the Quality Council of India for NABL accreditation of district and sub‑divisional labs, and the Antara Foundation, among others. The Adani Group will construct rest houses for patients’ attendants, and the Tata Steel Foundation and Kaivalya Education Foundation are also mentioned in related health‑system collaborations. Mahaling described the day as “historic” and said the MoUs aim to improve patient care, expand training opportunities, and strengthen diagnostic services across Odisha.
