Odisha political scrutiny rises over CM travel and investment claims

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reportedly used helicopters and aircraft 119 times between July 2024 and October 2025, according to information obtained via the Right to Information Act. The records indicate 64 helicopter trips and 55 aircraft journeys, including travel to nearby locations such as Cuttack, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur.

Separately, the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded a white paper from the BJP government regarding the state's investment and job creation records. OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das questioned the credibility of investment claims made during the Chief Minister's foreign visits, noting a discrepancy between announced MoUs and actual projects reaching the groundbreaking stage. Das requested project-wise disclosure of investment and employment figures in the upcoming Assembly session.
