ODS excludes Filip Dvořák from Prague 1 election list over inheritance

The executive council of the Czech Civic Democratic Party (ODS) voted unanimously to require the Prague 1 branch to overhaul its candidate list for the upcoming autumn municipal elections. Former city councilor and ex‑mayor Filip Dvořák must be removed; the branch has until 24 July to submit a revised list, and if it does not comply, the regional council will draft the list itself.

Party leaders Martin Kupka and Tomáš Portlík said Dvořák failed to provide satisfactory clarification of his inherited assets, estimated at about 230 million CZK. The inheritance includes six apartments in Prague, a chalet in Špindlerův Mlýn, fifteen diamonds, gold, jewelry, securities, several cars, roughly 17.5 million CZK in cash and a yacht moored in Croatia. Dvořák, who says his father Karl Dvořák accumulated the wealth through long‑term investments, has refused to resign from the list, asserting he has disclosed all relevant information on social media.
