ODS names Tomáš Portlík as mayoral candidate in Prague municipal election

The Czech Civic Democratic Party (ODS) approved its candidate list for the October 2026 Prague municipal elections. Party chairman Tomáš Portlík, mayor of Prague 9, will lead the list and run for the city’s mayoralty. Former Prague 2 mayor Alexandr Udženija, now deputy mayor, was placed second, emphasizing the party’s strength with 19 incumbent mayors on the ticket.

The list combines leaders from large districts such as Prague 6, 8 and 10 with representatives from smaller boroughs. ODS confirmed continued cooperation with TOP 09 under the SPOLU coalition, signing a memorandum of collaboration. The coalition aims to win over 50 % of the vote to avoid a post‑election partnership with the ANO movement. Elections for the 65‑member Prague City Council are scheduled for 9‑10 October 2026.
