OFI Crete signs Spanish forward Aitor Cantalapiedra on two‑year deal

PAE OFI 1925 announced the signing of Spanish forward Aitor Cantalapiedra Fernández on a two‑year contract that runs until the summer of 2028. Born on 10 February 1996 in Barcelona, the 30‑year‑old previously played for Barcelona B, Villarreal B, Sevilla Atlético, Dutch side Twente and Panathinaikos, where he made 95 appearances, scored 24 goals and delivered 15 assists while winning the Greek Cup in 2022 and 2024.

Cantalapiedra also featured on loan at AEK Larnaca (14 matches, 7 goals, 5 assists) and most recently at Brazil’s EC Vitória. His career totals exceed 300 professional appearances with 75 goals and 48 assists. After completing medical examinations in Heraklion, he is due to travel to the Netherlands to join OFI’s pre‑season training. The club also confirmed a pending deal for defender Demetris Nikolau, describing the two signings as a “double hit” for the squad.
